Much of Sydni’s early professional work and achievements occurred during her time at CSUN. Explore some of her public speaking engagements as well as her contributions to groundbreaking programs.

As part of a short video series aimed at recent graduates, Sydni shared her tips for effective networking.

myCSUNtablet

Sydni began working on the myCSUNtablet program in the summer of 2013 before the official launch of the program. Training and classroom support is critical to the success of faculty. She designed iPad-centric training programs for both quick consumption (one hour or less) and extensive training (3 days) in what later came to be called the myCSUNtablet Academy. In her first year as Tablet Technologist, she worked with little to no supervision or colleagues. Since myCSUNtablet initiative’s launch, 100 instructors have taught more than 200 iPad classes in eight departments and serves 8,000 students.

In January 2015, the CSUN myCSUNtablet program was named an Apple Distinguished Program. In June 2015, the program received the "Recognition of Excellence Award" at the Staff Service Awards.

CSUN AppJam 2015

Outside of Sydni’s normal scope of duties as Tablet Technologist, she contributed to the first CSUN App Jam by prepping marketing material for print and web using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. She also negotiated with printers to receive the highest quality product.

In addition to the marketing portion of the event, Sydni secured student organization support and consulted the event management team for the App Jam kickoff and finale events.

CSUN Freshman Convocation

In September 2012 Sydni was chosen as an Outstanding Graduating Senior and spoke to 2,000 first-time freshmen at California State University, Northridge. The speech was titled Rose-Colored Glasses.
